The last month has flown by and the leaves are just beginning to show signs of the Fall season - quite a bit later than usual. My fall crop of lettuce is growing well, and is thriving in the warm, summerlike days as am I. The thought of cold weather creeping back into my life is NOT PLEASANT!
September flew by - the first month of the school year is a zoom. Never enough time in a day to get it all done. But my new office is palatial. Although my office is non stop busy, having my own "digs" has really helped a lot.
Jenn just flew back to Florida yesterday, after a week long visit. She had a very restful week and deservedly so. Now she starts a 3 month long stint without any more time off until New Years. Her last rotation was not a lot of fun for her - a farm rotation dealing mostly with dairy cows. It seems she is headed for small animal practice! Who would have thought?
Maxine just enjoyed a visit from Alan these last few days. He was able to fly down to Charleston and take in the sights peacefully without me! Maxine is thriving at College of Charleston. Currently double majoring in Political Science and History with a minor in French and serving as President of the Jewish Student Union, her days are filled to capacity. She is also fitting in working as a French Tutor this year - so she is keeping pretty busy. Her new apartment with Rachel and Laura is wonderful - they love the place and the ability to do laundry at home!
Last weekend we visited with Alan's parents and celebrated his Dad's 84th birthday with a family barbecue. Everyone was there except for Ben and Maxine. We sailed with Jon on his C&C a good part of the day - it was fabulous!
Next weekend I will visit with some of my friends in New Hartford -always a pleasure to see them. And then I will attend a Pickle Making Workshop in Cornwall with my friends from Motherhouse. I could make a career out of "home crafting" - someday soon I will have my little farm and will make jams and pickles and bread all day long! And I will surround myself with a few chickens, pigs, goats, sheep and maybe a horse! I hope I don't have to wait until my next lifetime for this!!!!!!!!!

Almost Summer!
Another whole year since my last post despite my intentions to post more often! Oh, well!
I am almost finished with my first year at Old Saybrook HS as the school nurse. It's been a good year, mostly, even with my temporary headquarters in the team room! Hopefully, I will be moving into the new office before the summer.
While Maxine is off in France taking courses through Syracuse University, Alan and I will be crusing on the boat for almost 2 weeks. We plan on docking in Stonington, Newport, Block and Greenport during the last week of June and first week of July. Maxine will fly home July 21st and will undergo some dental work.
Jenn will fly home the first week in Aug and we'll have a bit of a family get together. Shortly after, we will move Max back to school and I will be heading back to work.
Looking forward to a fabulous summer!
Love to all - Betsy
